77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, The city of Longview lost a beloved resident with
99 the passing of Tracy Lee Vincent on July 30, 2024, at the age of 66;
1010 and
1111 WHEREAS, The son of Helen Hazel and James Thomas Vincent,
1212 Tracy Vincent was born in Jacksonville on January 12, 1958, and he
1313 grew up with the companionship of two brothers, Tommy and Harvey; he
1414 graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1977; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Vincent relocated to Tyler in 1985 and
1616 subsequently embarked on a fulfilling career in
1717 telecommunications; while there, he was a dedicated member of Rose
1818 Heights Church; after moving to Longview in 1995, he became highly
1919 active in his community, giving generously of his time and talents
2020 to a number of organizations, including as a member of the Longview
2121 Chamber of Commerce and as chair of the Republican Party of Gregg
2222 County from 2017 to 2019; moreover, he previously served as a
2323 Republican precinct chair as well as a delegate to the Republican
2424 National Convention, and he was involved in a number of other
2525 political groups, such as the East Texans for Liberty Political
2626 Action Committee and We The People-Longview; and
2727 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Vincent benefited from the
2828 love and support of his wife, Donna, and he was the proud father of
2929 seven children, Brandi, Justin, Melissa, Christopher, Melissa,
3030 Stephanie, and Korbin; over the years, he was further blessed with
3131 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; in his leisure time, he
3232 enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was also known for his
3333 entertaining campfire stories and spontaneous pranks; a man of
3434 strong faith, he and his wife were members of Mobberly Baptist
3535 Church; and
3636 WHEREAS, While the death of Tracy Vincent brings great
3737 sadness to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that
3838 will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
3939 therefore, be it
4040 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
4141 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Tracy Lee Vincent and
4242 extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further
4343 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4444 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4545 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tracy
4646 Vincent.
