8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The city of Longview lost a beloved resident with |
---|
9 | 9 | | the passing of Tracy Lee Vincent on July 30, 2024, at the age of 66; |
---|
10 | 10 | | and |
---|
11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The son of Helen Hazel and James Thomas Vincent, |
---|
12 | 12 | | Tracy Vincent was born in Jacksonville on January 12, 1958, and he |
---|
13 | 13 | | grew up with the companionship of two brothers, Tommy and Harvey; he |
---|
14 | 14 | | graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1977; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Vincent relocated to Tyler in 1985 and |
---|
16 | 16 | | subsequently embarked on a fulfilling career in |
---|
17 | 17 | | telecommunications; while there, he was a dedicated member of Rose |
---|
18 | 18 | | Heights Church; after moving to Longview in 1995, he became highly |
---|
19 | 19 | | active in his community, giving generously of his time and talents |
---|
20 | 20 | | to a number of organizations, including as a member of the Longview |
---|
21 | 21 | | Chamber of Commerce and as chair of the Republican Party of Gregg |
---|
22 | 22 | | County from 2017 to 2019; moreover, he previously served as a |
---|
23 | 23 | | Republican precinct chair as well as a delegate to the Republican |
---|
24 | 24 | | National Convention, and he was involved in a number of other |
---|
25 | 25 | | political groups, such as the East Texans for Liberty Political |
---|
26 | 26 | | Action Committee and We The People-Longview; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Vincent benefited from the |
---|
28 | 28 | | love and support of his wife, Donna, and he was the proud father of |
---|
29 | 29 | | seven children, Brandi, Justin, Melissa, Christopher, Melissa, |
---|
30 | 30 | | Stephanie, and Korbin; over the years, he was further blessed with |
---|
31 | 31 | | 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; in his leisure time, he |
---|
32 | 32 | | enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was also known for his |
---|
33 | 33 | | entertaining campfire stories and spontaneous pranks; a man of |
---|
34 | 34 | | strong faith, he and his wife were members of Mobberly Baptist |
---|
35 | 35 | | Church; and |
---|
36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, While the death of Tracy Vincent brings great |
---|
37 | 37 | | sadness to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that |
---|
38 | 38 | | will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now, |
---|
39 | 39 | | therefore, be it |
---|
40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
---|
41 | 41 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Tracy Lee Vincent and |
---|
42 | 42 | | extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further |
---|
43 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
---|
44 | 44 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
---|
45 | 45 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tracy |
