7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Denton County lost an admired civic leader with the |

8 | 8 | | passing of Jill Diane Warrington Glover of Double Oak on January 14, |
---|
9 | 9 | | 2024, at the age of 63; and |
---|
10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Nancy and Forrest Warrington, the |
---|
11 | 11 | | former Jill Warrington was born in Palestine, Texas, on October 10, |
---|
12 | 12 | | 1960; after completing her master's degree in psychology at Stephen |
---|
13 | 13 | | F. Austin State University, she worked for Texas State Mental |
---|
14 | 14 | | Health Services in Longview; she went on to establish a private |
---|
15 | 15 | | practice in Dallas focused on helping women with eating disorders |
---|
16 | 16 | | and abuse trauma; in addition, she taught at Dallas County |
---|
17 | 17 | | Community College and at Coram Deo Academy; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Glover became a dedicated activist in the |
---|
19 | 19 | | grassroots conservative movement; she served her fellow Double Oak |
---|
20 | 20 | | residents as precinct chair, and as chair of the Legislative |
---|
21 | 21 | | Priorities Committee of the Republican Party of Texas, she kept a |
---|
22 | 22 | | strong focus on advancing the policies developed by thousands of |
---|
23 | 23 | | delegates from across the state; after becoming State Republican |
---|
24 | 24 | | Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 12 in 2018, she |
---|
25 | 25 | | regularly toured Texas to address hundreds of grassroots clubs; she |
---|
26 | 26 | | advocated energetically for voters and the Republican Party |
---|
27 | 27 | | platform and worked tirelessly to educate citizens about the |
---|
28 | 28 | | importance of political engagement at the local and state level; |
---|
29 | 29 | | She strongly advocated for legislation that would end the practice |
---|
30 | 30 | | of pediatric gender modification in the State of Texas and saw it |
---|
31 | 31 | | pass into law in 2023; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, Mrs. Glover mentored many |
---|
33 | 33 | | people, and she brought joy to all she encountered through her |
---|
34 | 34 | | warmth, humor, and encouragement; in all her endeavors, she enjoyed |
---|
35 | 35 | | the love and support of her husband, Curtis, and she was the proud |
---|
36 | 36 | | mother of a son, Nicholas; and |
---|
37 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Jill Glover selflessly devoted her time and talents |
---|
38 | 38 | | to the conservative cause, and although she is deeply missed by all |
---|
39 | 39 | | who were privileged to share in her love and friendship, her |
---|
40 | 40 | | exceptional contributions continue to resonate; now, therefore, be |
---|
41 | 41 | | it |

42 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
---|
43 | 43 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jill Diane Warrington |
---|
44 | 44 | | Glover and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: |

45 | 45 | | to her husband, Curtis Glover; to her son, Nicholas Glover; to her |
---|
46 | 46 | | brothers, David and Dennis Warrington; and to her other relatives |

47 | 47 | | and friends; and, be it further |

48 | 48 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
