67 R E S O L U T I O N
78 WHEREAS, Great Beginnings Early Childhood Center at St. Paul
89 Lutheran Church in Harlingen has received Texas Rising Star
910 certification from the Texas Workforce Commission; and
1011 WHEREAS, The Texas Rising Star initiative is a quality rating
1112 and improvement system for child care programs participating in
1213 TWC's Child Care Services program; certification is available to
1314 child care centers throughout the state that demonstrate a
1415 consistent and high level of compliance with Child Care Regulation
1516 minimum standards; and
1617 WHEREAS, Great Beginnings is a faith-based organization that
1718 serves children between the ages of six weeks and three years; ably
1819 led by director Carla Wisdom, the program includes chapel services,
1920 meals, and instructional activities; moreover, the center utilizes
2021 Frog Street Curriculum, which is comprehensive and research-based
2122 and aligns with state and federal standards; and
2223 WHEREAS, Great Beginnings plays a vital role in providing
2324 young Texans with a strong foundation on which to build, and this
2425 well-deserved designation is a testament to the skill and
2526 dedication of its administrators and staff; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Great Beginnings Early Childhood
2829 Center on receiving Texas Rising Star certification from the Texas
2930 Workforce Commission and extend to all those associated with the
3031 program sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
3132 further
3233 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3334 prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3435 House of Representatives.
