| 8 | 9 | | Austin on February 10 and 11, 2025, to celebrate Tarrant County Days |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Created in 1849, Tarrant County has a history rooted |

| 11 | 12 | | in the Old West, having served as the terminus point for cattle |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | drives during the 19th century; the county was named after General |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Edward H. Tarrant, who commanded Republic of Texas militia forces |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | at the Battle of Village Creek in 1841; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Tarrant County has evolved from a frontier community |

| 16 | 17 | | into a contemporary and cosmopolitan center for business, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | education, culture, and tourism; with more than two million people, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | it is the third most populous county in Texas; its county seat, Fort |

|---|

|---|

|---|
| 53 | 54 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of Tarrant County continue to honor |

| 54 | 55 | | their rich and colorful history while building an even brighter |
|---|
| 55 | 56 | | future for the generations to come, and it is indeed fitting that |

| 56 | 57 | | they receive special recognition for their achievements and their |
|---|
| 57 | 58 | | contributions to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 58 | 59 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 59 | 60 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 10 and 11, 2025, as Tarrant |

| 60 | 61 | | County Days at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting |

| 61 | 62 | | delegation sincere best wishes for a productive and enjoyable stay |
