| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Santos |

| 8 | 9 | | Saenz Alvarado of Robstown, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at |

| 9 | 10 | | the age of 90; and |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Born on July 12, 1934, in Victoria, to Celso Cantu |

| 11 | 12 | | Saenz and Rosa Montes Saenz, Santos Saenz grew up with the |

| 12 | 13 | | companionship of six siblings, Lupe, Velso, Roberto, Delfina, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Josie, and Mary; she married Jose Guadalupe Alvarado, and they were |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | blessed with seven children, Jose, Albert, Linda, Cynthia, Edward, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | David, and Elizabeth; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Mrs. Alvarado served as a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | substitute teacher in the Robstown Independent School District, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | where she nurtured her students with patience and kindness; prior |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | to working in education, she was a sales clerk at Leshin's for over |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | 20 years; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Alvarado enjoyed making crafts, especially |

| 22 | 23 | | rosaries; in addition to designing jewelry, sewing, and creating |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | gifts, she also liked selling Avon and Mary Kay products, playing |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | bingo with friends, and sharing stories with her loved ones at the |

| 25 | 26 | | dinner table; a woman of deep faith, she was a member of St. Anthony |

| 26 | 27 | | Catholic Church in Robstown; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, While the death of Santos Alvarado brings great |

| 28 | 29 | | sadness to her family and friends, her warmth, wisdom, and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | generosity will long be remembered by all those who were fortunate |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Santos Saenz |
