| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rashmi Rode of Baylor College of Medicine is |

| 8 | 9 | | serving as Physician of the Day at the State Capitol on February 26, |

| 9 | 10 | | 2025; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Since 1971, the Physician of the Day program at the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | State Capitol has provided for a doctor to be on call each day of a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | legislative session as a resource for legislators and support |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | staff; family physicians travel from all over the state to |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | volunteer their time and expertise at the Capitol health clinic; |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rode is the associate program director of the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Family Medicine Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine in |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Houston, and she also serves patients from underserved communities |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | through her work with the Harris Health System; a Fellow of the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | American Academy of Family Physicians, she has benefited the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | organization as a state delegate and convener at its National |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Conference of Constituency Leaders; in addition, she is a member of |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | the Harris County Academy of Family Physicians Advisory Board; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from medical school in India, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Dr. Rode went on to complete her family medicine residency at |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Baylor College of Medicine, where she stayed on as faculty; over the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | course of her tenure, she has received multiple awards, including a |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Women of Excellence Award, a Star Award for Excellence in Patient |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | Care, and a Norton Rose Fulbright Faculty Excellence Award in |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Teaching and Evaluation; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Rashmi Rode has demonstrated exceptional |

| 32 | 33 | | dedication to her profession and to her fellow citizens, and it is |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | indeed fitting to honor her for her service to the legislative |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 36 | 37 | | Legislature hereby honor Dr. Rashmi Rode for her participation in |

| 37 | 38 | | the Physician of the Day program and extend to her sincere best |

| 38 | 39 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
