67 R E S O L U T I O N
78 WHEREAS, A delegation from the Texas Association of African
89 American Chambers of Commerce is visiting Austin on March 19, 2025,
910 in observance of Black Business Day at the State Capitol; and
1011 WHEREAS, Officially established in 1988, TAAACC can trace its
1112 roots to the 1920s, when the Dallas Negro Chamber of Commerce was
1213 formed to facilitate the participation of African American business
1314 owners in the economic mainstream; today, the association is a
1415 statewide network of African American chambers of commerce,
1516 representing more than 10,000 members and serving as the voice for
1617 over 350,000 businesses; and
1718 WHEREAS, TAAACC educates members about laws and regulations
1819 that could impact businesses, and it works within the legislative
1920 process to ensure equal opportunities for African American
2021 enterprises; moreover, it coordinates with leaders in government
2122 and the corporate world to encourage diversity and inclusiveness,
2223 and it supports policies that promote economic mobility for all
2324 Texans; and
2425 WHEREAS, Through its outstanding advocacy in behalf of
2526 African American entrepreneurs, the Texas Association of African
2627 American Chambers of Commerce is contributing to the continued
2728 prosperity and vitality of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be
2829 it
2930 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3031 Legislature hereby recognize March 19, 2025, as Texas Association
3132 of African American Chambers of Commerce Black Business Day at the
3233 State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to all those participating
3334 in the event.
