67 R E S O L U T I O N
78 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center
89 Society are gathering in Austin on February 25, 2025, for
910 Ambulatory Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol; and
1011 WHEREAS, An alternative to hospitalization for acute care,
1112 ambulatory surgery centers perform outpatient procedures that
1213 enable individuals to check out the same day and recover in the
1314 comfort of their own home; and
1415 WHEREAS, There are currently more than 600 ambulatory surgery
1516 centers licensed for operation by the Texas Department of State
1617 Health Services; these facilities treat hundreds of thousands of
1718 patients each year, resulting in millions of dollars saved for the
1819 state's health care system; and
1920 WHEREAS, By providing high-quality medical care at a
2021 comparatively low cost, ambulatory surgery centers are helping to
2122 ensure the health and well-being of patients, and these facilities
2223 are indeed deserving of recognition for the important role they
2324 play in meeting Texans' health care needs; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby recognize February 25, 2025, as Ambulatory
2627 Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol and commend the
2728 Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society for its work; and, be it
2829 further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
3132 Texas House of Representatives.
