7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The passing of Kenny Salazar of Perrin on |

8 | 9 | | February 19, 2025, at the age of 57, brought an immeasurable loss to |

9 | 10 | | his family and friends; and |

10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The son of Lucy Robbins and Wally and JoAnn Salazar, |

11 | 12 | | Kenny Salazar was born in Bridgeport on January 23, 1968, and he was |

12 | 13 | | blessed with the companionship of three siblings, Debbie, Junior, |
---|
13 | 14 | | and Denise; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Salazar was elected as the Precinct 2 |
---|
15 | 16 | | commissioner of Jack County in 2022; dedicated to his community, he |
---|
16 | 17 | | also established the Perrin Community Improvement and Crime Watch, |
---|
17 | 18 | | and he actively participated in ensuring his neighborhood's safety; |

19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Salazar benefited from |
---|
20 | 21 | | the love and support of his wife, Amy, with whom he shared a |
---|
21 | 22 | | rewarding marriage of 34 years; he took great pride in his |

22 | 23 | | daughters, Cameron, Sadie, Kaley, and Kaitlyn, and with the passing |

23 | 24 | | years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include |

24 | 25 | | eight grandchildren; and |
---|
25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Always the life of the party, Mr. Salazar enjoyed a |

26 | 27 | | career as a deejay, and he also spent many happy hours playing the |
---|
27 | 28 | | drums, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, riding his motorcycle, and |

28 | 29 | | going on fishing and road trips with his grandchildren; above all, |

29 | 30 | | he was devoted to his family and his faith; and |

30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Although Kenny Salazar is deeply missed, memories of |

31 | 32 | | his passion for life, his devotion to his community, and his keen |
---|
32 | 33 | | sense of humor remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; |

34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
