7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Nurses Association and other |

8 | 9 | | nursing organizations are gathering in Austin on March 4, 2025, for |

9 | 10 | | Nurse Day at the State Capitol; and |
---|
10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Certified nursing assistants, licensed vocational |
---|
11 | 12 | | nurses, registered nurses, and advanced practice registered nurses |
---|
12 | 13 | | care for Texans each day in hospitals, nursing homes, home health |
---|
13 | 14 | | agencies, and other settings; registered nurses constitute the |
---|
14 | 15 | | largest health care profession in the state, and they help to ensure |
---|
15 | 16 | | that Texans have access to quality health care at all stages of |
---|
16 | 17 | | life; and |
---|
17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Nurses have bravely served on the front lines during |
---|
18 | 19 | | the COVID-19 pandemic and protected the health of Texans, often |
---|
19 | 20 | | putting their own well-being in jeopardy; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Nurses are consistently rated by the Gallup Poll |
---|
21 | 22 | | each year as the highest-ranked professionals for honesty and |
---|
22 | 23 | | ethical standards, and across the profession, they share a mission |
---|
23 | 24 | | for promoting excellence in patient care, both at the bedside and in |
---|
24 | 25 | | the public arena; and |
---|
25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Through their deep commitment to the health and |
---|
26 | 27 | | well-being of their patients and their advocacy on behalf of |
---|
27 | 28 | | quality health care, Texas nurses have earned the lasting respect, |
---|
28 | 29 | | admiration, and appreciation of their fellow citizens; now, |
---|
29 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
---|
31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 4, 2025, as Nurse Day at the |
---|
32 | 33 | | State Capitol and commend all nurses for their invaluable service |
---|
33 | 34 | | to the Lone Star State. |
