| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Sindhi Saqafat, a day of unity and celebration for |

| 9 | 9 | | the people of Pakistan's Sindh province and members of the Sindhi |

| 10 | 10 | | diaspora, is taking place on December 7, 2025; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The festival, which is also known as Sindhi Cultural |

| 12 | 12 | | Day, provides an opportunity for Sindhi people to showcase their |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | centuries-old culture and to convey a message of peace and love to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the world; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Since first being observed on December 6, 2009, the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | festival has grown in popularity, and it is now celebrated in every |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | major city of Sindh and in many other areas across the globe; on |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | this occasion, revelers don traditional attire, including printed |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | shawls known as ajrak and caps known as topi, items that are also |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | exchanged as gifts at ceremonies held during the day; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Sindhi political, social, and religious |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | organizations host a variety of activities throughout Sindhi |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Saqafat, including poetry and literary readings, musical concerts, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | theatrical performances, seminars, rallies, debates, and bonfire |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | gatherings called mach kachehri; at the largest assemblies that |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | occur during Sindhi Saqafat, famous Sindhi singers perform |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | well-known tunes such as "Jeay Sindh Jeay-Sindh Wara Jean," the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Sindhi national song, as crowds dance jubilantly; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Sindhi Saqafat is a festive and joyful occasion for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the global Sindhi community, whose members share a deep sense of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | pride in their culture, history, and heritage, and it is indeed |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | fitting to acknowledge the significance of the event for those of |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Sindhi descent who reside in our state and nation; now, therefore, |

| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby commemorate Sindhi Saqafat 2025 and extend |
