| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, DiscoverSTEM is hosting Innovation Day at the State |

| 9 | 10 | | commend the organization for its contributions; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Founded by aerospace scientist and inventor Mirza |

| 11 | 12 | | Faizan in 2016, DiscoverSTEM is designed to help youth become the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | innovators and problem solvers of tomorrow; its Innovation Program |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | is composed of the Foundation Course, where participants acquire |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the knowledge and skills needed to research and innovate, and the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Implementation Course, where they put their skills to the test by |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | developing solutions to real-world problems; young people involved |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | in DiscoverSTEM benefit from the guidance and insight of the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | program's team and panel of experts, which includes leading |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | scientists, innovators, motivational speakers, educators, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | behavioral experts, technologists, corporate executives, |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | management consultants, and mentors; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, To date, DiscoverSTEM has filed patents for hundreds |

| 23 | 24 | | of youth ages 10 to 18, and participants have won dozens of awards |

| 24 | 25 | | at global innovation competitions; the organization also offers a |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | summer program that gives high school juniors and seniors the |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | opportunity to improve their college applications through |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | patent-pending innovations, commercialized startups, and research |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | papers; moreover, the group further helps students through its Ivy |

| 29 | 30 | | League Mentorship program, which aims to improve their chances of |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | being accepted to elite universities; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through its many initiatives, DiscoverSTEM is |

| 32 | 33 | | helping to prepare youth to meet the challenges and opportunities |

| 34 | 35 | | women who are participating in Innovation Day are indeed worthy of |
