| 10 | 11 | | 2025 University Interscholastic League Young Filmmakers Festival; |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A historic moment for JY Cinema, this year marks the |

| 13 | 14 | | first time that two of its films have made it into the top six in two |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | categories at the state finals; in recognition of their |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | achievements, the school will receive two state plaques, and each |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | of the 70 students in the program will earn a prestigious UIL state |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | medal; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The members of JY Cinema have spent the majority of |

| 19 | 20 | | the school year perfecting the films, both of which address issues |

| 20 | 21 | | related to student voices; the finalist entries include a narrative |

| 21 | 22 | | comedy, Switchin' Classes, and a documentary, The Circle of the |

| 22 | 23 | | Storm - The Dustin Garrison Story; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through their hard work and commitment to |

| 24 | 25 | | excellence, these talented young Texans have brought great pride to |

| 25 | 26 | | their school and community, and they are indeed deserving of |

| 26 | 27 | | special recognition for their accomplishments; now, therefore, be |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
