| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was established by |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | three students on the campus of Howard University in 1911; the Ninth |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was ratified 12 years |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | later, expanding the fraternity to Texas, as well as to Louisiana, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Arkansas, Oklahoma, and California; today, the organization |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | encompasses more than 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | across the United States and around the world, including over 50 |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | undergraduate and graduate chapters across the State of Texas; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The fraternity encourages its members to strive for |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | academic excellence and to use their resources for the betterment |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | of society; working diligently toward the greater good, members |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | promote education, support voter registration, fight illiteracy, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and participate in numerous |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | other mentoring and fund-raising activities; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In 1945, Omega Psi Phi launched a National Social |

| 27 | 28 | | Action Program to help address the needs of African Americans in the |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | areas of health, housing, civil rights, and education; recent |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | initiatives include "Brother, You're on My Mind," a collaboration |

| 30 | 31 | | with the National Institute on Minority Health and Health |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | Disparities to start conversations about mental health; in 2022, |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | the fraternity formed a partnership with the Alzheimer's |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | Association to raise awareness of the disease in the Black |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | community and connect those affected and their families with |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | resources; in February 2025, the Lone Star State Ques hosted their |
|---|
| 36 | 37 | | annual state meeting, electing new members of their Executive |
|---|

| 38 | 39 | | WHEREAS, The men of Omega Psi Phi have distinguished |
