 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The life of an admired public servant drew to a close
 with the passing of Bremond mayor Richard Swick on February 22,
 2025, at the age of 69; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Pete Swick and Regina Bielamowicz Swick,
 Ricky Swick was born in Marlin on January 28, 1956, and he grew up
 with the companionship of two sisters, Monica and Debbie; in 1974,
 he graduated from Bremond High School, and he went on to enjoy a
 long and rewarding career with GATX, where he worked for 42 years;
 and
 WHEREAS, On May 19, 1979, Mr. Swick married the love of his
 life, the former Beverly Cox, and the couple shared a rewarding
 marriage that spanned more than four and a half decades; they were
 blessed with four children, Katie Jo, Alex, Aaron, and Kurt, and
 over the years, their treasured family grew to include seven
 grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Committed to his community, Mr. Swick served on the
 Bremond City Council from 1981 until he was elected to his first
 term as mayor of Bremond in 1988; he held that position until 2005,
 and in 2009, he returned to the office, serving until his passing;
 in addition, he was active with the Bremond Chamber of Commerce and
 the Knights of Columbus, and he was a valued member of St. Mary's
 Catholic Church; and
 WHEREAS, Although Ricky Swick's death has brought great
 sorrow to those who loved him, his life was an inspiring example of
 the good that one person can accomplish; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Richard Swick and
 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
 Beverly Swick; to his children, Katie Jo Curtis and her husband,
 Kelly, Alex Swick and his wife, Rachel, Aaron Swick and his wife,
 Melissa, and Kurt Swick; to his honorary son, Todd Swick; to his
 sisters, Monica Stem and her husband, Greg, and Debbie Hernandez
 and her husband, Gene; to his mother, Regina Lloyd; to his
 grandchildren, Tori, Owen, Rylee, and Rhett Swick, Koty Curtis, and
 Noah and Jude Ruggeri; to his niece, Sarah Stem; and to his other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ricky
 Swick.
