7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Representatives of the Texas Prevention Network are |

8 | 9 | | visiting the State Capitol on March 6, 2025; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established by TexProtects in 2012, the Texas |

10 | 11 | | Prevention Network serves as a collaboration platform for |

11 | 12 | | organizations that strive to prevent child abuse and neglect; the |
---|
12 | 13 | | network facilitates peer-to-peer connections and resource sharing, |
---|
13 | 14 | | hosts educational sessions, and disseminates updates from state |
---|
14 | 15 | | agencies and other groups engaged in this work; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Prevention Network is made up of more than |
---|
16 | 17 | | 250 direct service providers from across the state; all of the |
---|
17 | 18 | | providers and affiliated programs work toward the common goal of |
---|
18 | 19 | | supporting families in order to keep them safe, healthy, together, |
---|
19 | 20 | | and self-sufficient; and |

20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Among the organizations participating in Texas |
---|
21 | 22 | | Prevention Network Day are Hope Cottage, Any Baby Can, Parents as |
---|
22 | 23 | | Teachers, Buckner International, Presbyterian Children's Homes and |
---|
23 | 24 | | Services, and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas; and |
---|
24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, For more than a decade, the Texas Prevention Network |
---|
25 | 26 | | has served as an important resource for those working to protect the |
---|
26 | 27 | | state's most vulnerable population, and it is indeed deserving of |
---|
27 | 28 | | recognition for its contributions to the well-being of countless |
---|
28 | 29 | | young Texans and their families; now, therefore, be it |
---|
29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
---|
30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 6, 2025, as Texas Prevention |
---|
31 | 32 | | Network Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the |
---|
32 | 33 | | visiting delegation. |
