| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Reverend Joshua LeBetts Pryor of New Birth |

| 8 | 9 | | Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas is serving as Pastor of the Day |

| 9 | 10 | | for the Texas House of Representatives on March 19, 2025; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A Dallas native, Reverend Pryor followed in the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | footsteps of his parents, Pastor Michael Dwain Pryor and Sister |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Stephanie Denise Pryor, in pursuing a life of ministerial service; |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | after graduating from Trinity Christian School, he obtained his |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | associate's degree from Southwestern Christian College and his |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas; he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | subsequently earned his teaching certification, and he has since |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | undertaken studies at Southern Bible Institute and College to |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | deepen his understanding of theology and further develop his skills |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | as a clergyman; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Reverend Pryor was ordained on January 10, 2021, and |

| 21 | 22 | | he served as executive minister of New Birth Missionary Baptist |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | under the leadership of his father for the next three years; |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | following his father's passing in January 2024, he assumed the |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | pulpit of New Birth, and his able stewardship of the church has |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | earned him the respect and admiration of his congregation; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Reverend Pryor derives great |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | inspiration and support from his wife, Michelle Pryor, who has |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | served by his side as the first lady of New Birth Missionary |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | Baptist; the couple are the loving parents of two children, |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Immanuel and Jewel; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Joshua Pryor exemplifies the highest standards of |

| 32 | 33 | | his vocation, and over the years, he has inspired countless Texans |

| 33 | 34 | | through his messages of faith and goodwill; now, therefore, be it |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 35 | 36 | | Legislature hereby honor the Reverend Joshua Pryor for his service |
