67 R E S O L U T I O N
78 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
89 passing of Patricia Jung Williams of Willow Park on January 18,
910 2025, at the age of 67; and
1011 WHEREAS, The former Patty Jung was born on August 10, 1957, to
1112 Hermann and Kitty Jung in Ottawa, Canada, where her family resided
1213 after emigrating from Germany; the Jung family eventually moved to
1314 Fort Worth and became U.S. citizens, and she graduated from
1415 Arlington Heights High School, which later named her a
1516 distinguished graduate; she subsequently earned a bachelor's
1617 degree in business from Austin College; and
1718 WHEREAS, Early in her career, Mrs. Williams worked in the
1819 hotel hospitality business at Green Oaks Inn in Fort Worth before
1920 becoming a sales manager for Hyatt Hotels and the director of sales
2021 for state associations for Amfac Hotels at Dallas Fort Worth
2122 International Airport; she achieved great success after joining the
2223 executive team of Roger Williams Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram SRT in
2324 Weatherford, a dealership owned by her husband, U.S. Congressman
2425 Roger Williams; the couple shared 41 years of marriage and took
2526 great joy in welcoming their two daughters, J. J. and Sabrina, into
2627 the business as managing partners; later in life, they were further
2728 blessed with two grandchildren, Clara and Emmy; and
2829 WHEREAS, In 1995, Mrs. Williams was appointed by Governor
2930 George W. Bush to the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority,
3031 and she was later elected as its first female chair; she was
3132 appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve as a public member and
3233 director of the State Bar of Texas in 2002; among the many other
3334 organizations that benefited from her involvement were the Better
3435 Business Bureau of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, the Fort Worth
3536 Chamber of Commerce, the Tarrant Area Food Bank, Texas Women for the
3637 Arts, and the Austin College President's Council, and she was also
3738 active in her congregation at Willow Park Baptist Church; over the
3839 years, she received a number of honors, which included being named
3940 the Most Influential Businesswoman of the Year by the Fort Worth
4041 Business Press in 1997; and
4142 WHEREAS, Patty Williams was a devoted wife and mother, an
4243 accomplished business leader, and a model of civic engagement, and
4344 she leaves behind a record of service and success that her loved
4445 ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
4546 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
4647 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Jung
4748 Williams and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
4849 to her husband, the Honorable Roger Williams; to her children,
4950 Jaclyn Williams Contreras and her husband, Eric, and Sabrina
5051 Williams Speirs and her husband, Jesse; to her grandchildren, Clara
5152 Contreras and Emmy Mac Speirs; to her sister, Susan Davis, and her
5253 husband, Greg; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be
5354 it further
5455 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5556 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
5657 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patty
5758 Williams.
