 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Southern Regional Education Board recently
 established the Crisis Recovery Support Network to assist school
 communities that have been impacted by tragedy; and
 WHEREAS, Established in 1948, SREB works with states, school
 districts, and campuses to improve education at every level; the
 organization currently serves 16 states throughout the Southern
 U.S. region; and
 WHEREAS, SREB's Crisis Recovery Support Network will offer
 yearlong emotional and mental health services to help students,
 teachers, and campus communities in the wake of such public
 emergencies as natural disasters and mass casualty events; the
 program aims to provide specialized training to more than 640
 counselors across the region, who will be deployed to the sites of
 significant incidents as needed; these efforts will help to ensure
 that all schools, including those in underserved rural areas, have
 access to treatment for psychological trauma; and
 WHEREAS, For more than 75 years, the Southern Regional
 Education Board has provided exceptional services to academic
 institutions in Texas and beyond, and its new program is sure to be
 an invaluable resource for campuses reeling from a catastrophe;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend the Southern Regional Education Board
 for aiding schools through its Crisis Recovery Support Network and
 extend to all those affiliated with the organization sincere best
 wishes for continued success in their important work; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for SREB as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
 of Representatives.
