| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Proud representatives of the De Leon Independent |

| 8 | 9 | | School District are gathering in Austin on March 20, 2025, to take |

| 9 | 10 | | part in De Leon ISD Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Encompassing 272 square miles located primarily in |

| 11 | 12 | | Comanche County, De Leon ISD serves a population of approximately |

| 12 | 13 | | 700 students at three schools; the district's educators and staff |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | are committed to providing a safe learning environment that |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | encourages and challenges every student to achieve success; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, De Leon ISD has earned an overall "A" rating from the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Texas Education Agency; in addition, De Leon Elementary School and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | the district at large have been named to the Texas Honor Roll by the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Educational Results Partnership organization, and De Leon High |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | School has been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon campus; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The district issues a computer to each of its |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | students as part of its effort to equip young people with the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today's |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | technology-driven economy; to further a supportive and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | well-rounded learning environment, De Leon ISD provides school |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | supplies and meals to all students at no cost, and it offers a host |

| 26 | 27 | | of extracurricular activities and fields teams in a full range of |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | athletic competitions; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, administration, and students of |

| 29 | 30 | | De Leon ISD are building on a proud legacy of educational excellence |

| 30 | 31 | | and innovation, and it is fitting to acknowledge the meaningful |

| 31 | 32 | | contributions the district has made to the future of its community |

| 32 | 33 | | and the state as a whole; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 20, 2025, as De Leon Independent |
