| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Zeta Phi |

| 8 | 9 | | Beta Sorority are celebrating Blue and White Day at the State |

| 9 | 10 | | Capitol on March 18, 2025; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, In 1914, Phi Beta Sigma was established at Howard |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | University, and six years later, Zeta Phi Beta was formed with the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | fraternity's assistance; the two organizations are |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | constitutionally bound and enjoy a mutually supportive |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | relationship; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Phi Beta Sigma has initiated 225,000 members since |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | its founding; over the years, the group has expanded its service |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | mission by creating the Phi Beta Sigma National Foundation, the Phi |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Beta Sigma Federal Credit Union, and the Sigma Beta Club |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Foundation; members also sponsor international programs focusing |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | on education, business development, and social action; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Zeta Phi Beta is dedicated to improving the human |

| 22 | 23 | | condition both at home and abroad; the sorority was the first |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | National Pan-Hellenic Council organization to charter a chapter in |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Africa, and it has initiated over 125,000 college-educated women in |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | chapters around the world; since its inception, its members have |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | worked to transform their communities through volunteerism, and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | they have advocated powerfully for social and civic progress; |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | through its National Educational Foundation, the group awards |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | scholarships, conducts community education and training programs, |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | and supports scientific research; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, A joint effort of Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta, |

| 32 | 33 | | Blue and White Day provides an opportunity for the two |

| 33 | 34 | | organizations' members to reaffirm their steadfast commitment to |

| 34 | 35 | | community service and civic engagement, and it is indeed a pleasure |
