77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Connie Jane Hunt of Port Lavaca, a valued member of
99 the Calhoun County Republican Party and a friend to many, passed
1010 away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 88; and
1111 WHEREAS, The former Connie Jane Prince was born in Memphis,
1212 Tennessee, on March 7, 1936; she went on to marry Ed Hunt on October
1313 30, 1954, and the couple shared a rewarding union that spanned more
1414 than seven decades; they were blessed with a son, Corbin, who
1515 preceded his mother in death; and
1616 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hunt lived in locations around the world while
1717 her husband was serving in the military, and she held office jobs
1818 wherever he was stationed; the couple eventually made their home in
1919 the Magnolia Beach community of Calhoun County, where they remained
2020 for some three decades; and
2121 WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, Mrs. Hunt was actively involved
2222 in the Calhoun County Republican Club, serving as a mentor to many
2323 of its members and to Republicans throughout the state; moreover,
2424 she proudly supported the We the People program at Calhoun High
2525 School, helping to establish a field trip experience where students
2626 traveled to visit the State Capitol to learn more about the
2727 legislative process; a woman of strong faith, she also gave freely
2828 of her time and talents to her church community throughout her life;
2929 and
3030 WHEREAS, Although Connie Hunt is greatly missed, this beloved
3131 woman has left her family and friends with many cherished memories,
3232 and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now,
3333 therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3535 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Connie Jane Hunt and
3636 extend sincere condolences to her relatives and many friends; and,
3737 be it further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3939 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4040 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Connie
4141 Hunt.
