| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Connie Jane Hunt of Port Lavaca, a valued member of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the Calhoun County Republican Party and a friend to many, passed |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 88; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The former Connie Jane Prince was born in Memphis, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Tennessee, on March 7, 1936; she went on to marry Ed Hunt on October |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 30, 1954, and the couple shared a rewarding union that spanned more |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | than seven decades; they were blessed with a son, Corbin, who |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | preceded his mother in death; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Hunt lived in locations around the world while |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | her husband was serving in the military, and she held office jobs |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | wherever he was stationed; the couple eventually made their home in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Magnolia Beach community of Calhoun County, where they remained |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | for some three decades; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, Mrs. Hunt was actively involved |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in the Calhoun County Republican Club, serving as a mentor to many |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of its members and to Republicans throughout the state; moreover, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | she proudly supported the We the People program at Calhoun High |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | School, helping to establish a field trip experience where students |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | traveled to visit the State Capitol to learn more about the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | legislative process; a woman of strong faith, she also gave freely |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of her time and talents to her church community throughout her life; |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Although Connie Hunt is greatly missed, this beloved |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | woman has left her family and friends with many cherished memories, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Connie Jane Hunt and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | extend sincere condolences to her relatives and many friends; and, |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | be it further |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 39 | 39 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Connie |
