| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Birdville High School in North Richland Hills has |

| 9 | 9 | | earned the distinction of being the only school in Texas invited to |

| 10 | 10 | | perform in the Chapter Select One-Act Showcase at the 2025 |

| 11 | 11 | | International Thespian Festival; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Produced by the Educational Theatre Association, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the International Thespian Festival is a weeklong celebration of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | student achievement in the performing arts; each year, thousands of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | high school drama students and teachers participate in workshops, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | view top-level stage productions, and network with colleges, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | industry leaders, and Broadway professionals; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In November 2024, the Birdville StageHawks placed |

| 19 | 19 | | first at the Texas Thespian Festival Chapter Select One-Act Play |

| 20 | 20 | | competition with an original work by head theatre director and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Birdville Independent School District alumnus Trevin McLaughlin; |

| 22 | 22 | | Lindsey Fincher received the Best Performer award, and Landry |

| 23 | 23 | | Childress and Patrick McGaughey were presented with Excellent |

| 24 | 24 | | Performer awards; in recognition of the Birdville High theatre |

| 25 | 25 | | department's excellent showing, the school was invited to |

| 26 | 26 | | participate in the International Thespian Festival for the first |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | time in more than a decade; and |

| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The talented members of the Birdville StageHawks |

| 29 | 29 | | have distinguished themselves as one of the best high school |

| 30 | 30 | | performing arts groups in the nation, and they may indeed take pride |

| 31 | 31 | | in this outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Birdville High School |

| 34 | 34 | | StageHawks Theatre Department on its invitation to participate in |
