7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

8 | 9 | | passing of Olga Rodriguez of Alamo on March 5, 2025, at the age of |

10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Born in Alamo in 1952, the former Olga Garcia was the |

11 | 12 | | daughter of Santana and Rafaela Garcia; she grew up with the company |
---|
12 | 13 | | of seven siblings, Juanita, Santana, Ramona, Alicia, Alvina, Isaac, |
---|
13 | 14 | | and Adan, and she attended Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School; on |
---|
14 | 15 | | January 29, 1972, she married Pablo Rodriguez, and they were |
---|
15 | 16 | | blessed with a daughter, Miriam, and four sons, Pablo, Juan, Aaron, |
---|
16 | 17 | | and Javier; a devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Rodriguez always put |
---|
17 | 18 | | the needs of others first; she sensed when people needed help or |
---|
18 | 19 | | encouragement and brightened the days of those around her with her |
---|
19 | 20 | | sunny disposition and contagious laughter, as well as her great |
---|
20 | 21 | | kindness; and |

21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodriguez was employed for many years as a |

22 | 23 | | cafeteria line server, teacher's aide, and community aide; |

23 | 24 | | following her retirement, she became very involved in civic life, |

24 | 25 | | giving freely of her time and talents in many local and state |
---|
25 | 26 | | elections; she was a faithful parishioner of Resurrection Catholic |

26 | 27 | | Church, where she played organ and sang in the choir for many years; |

28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Although Olga Rodriguez is deeply missed, memories |

29 | 30 | | of her strength, wisdom, and compassion remain to comfort and |

30 | 31 | | inspire those she leaves behind; now, therefore, be it |

31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Olga Rodriguez and |
