| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Over the past decade, the Adopt A Highway |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The dedicated efforts of AHMC have helped ensure |

| 12 | 13 | | that Texas highways have been well-maintained, thus providing a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | cleaner, safer environment for travelers and enhancing the overall |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | beauty of our state; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, AHMC has exemplified corporate stewardship through |

| 16 | 17 | | its partnership program, which encourages individuals, businesses, |

| 17 | 18 | | and organizations to take an active role in highway beautification |

| 18 | 19 | | and fosters a sense of responsibility and pride among Texas |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In addition to contributing to the environmental |

| 21 | 22 | | health and quality of life in Texas, AHMC has significantly |

| 22 | 23 | | lessened the financial burden on the Texas Department of |

| 23 | 24 | | Transportation by reducing litter cleanup costs and minimizing the |

| 24 | 25 | | environmental impact of waste along our state's major |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | thoroughfares; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Improving the safety and cleanliness of our highways |

| 27 | 28 | | is an endeavor that every Texan can appreciate, and the Adopt A |

| 28 | 29 | | Highway Maintenance Corporation's efforts to that end have made our |

| 29 | 30 | | state a more attractive and inviting place for all who share the |

| 30 | 31 | | open road; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 32 | 33 | | Legislature hereby honor the Adopt A Highway Maintenance |

| 34 | 35 | | Texas and extend to the organization sincere best wishes for |
