| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Founded on May 10, 1930, the National Pan-Hellenic |

| 10 | 11 | | Council works to promote the well-being of its affiliate |

| 11 | 12 | | fraternities and sororities, to facilitate the development of local |

| 12 | 13 | | councils, and to provide leadership training to its members; today, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the organization consists of nine historically African American |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | fraternities and sororities, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, |

| 15 | 16 | | Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Omega Psi |
