| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Civic-minded women from across the Lone Star State |

| 9 | 9 | | are gathering in Austin on March 20, 2025, to celebrate Texas |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Federation of Republican Women Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women was |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | established in San Antonio in October 1955; with more than 300 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | delegates present, the organizing convention was led by |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Mrs. Malcolm Milburn, and it resulted in the election of Mrs. R. D. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | O'Callaghan as the first president; in the nearly seven decades |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | since its inception, the organization has grown into one of the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | largest women's political groups in the country; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, With the goals of educating the electorate, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | encouraging women to run for office, and electing Republican |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | candidates, TFRW issues informative communications and works |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | closely with other Republican organizations to train volunteers and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | provide support for local and statewide campaigns through voter |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | registration and outreach activities, political rallies, forums, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and legislative day events; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This notable organization embodies a spirit of |

| 26 | 26 | | public engagement, and its members may reflect with great pride on |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the exemplary model of citizenship they have set for their fellow |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 20, 2025, as Texas Federation of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Republican Women Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | to the members of the organization who are visiting on this day. |
