| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women designed |

| 9 | 9 | | its 40 Under 40 Fellowship to promote engagement in the political |

| 10 | 10 | | process and to build stronger leaders across the Lone Star State; |

|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Created for women between the ages of 18 and 40, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | especially those in early career stages, the fellowship offers |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | professional development and networking opportunities; in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | addition, mentors can provide advice in such areas as personal |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | branding, establishing a professional online presence, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | cultivating relationships; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, TFRW provides an avenue for women to influence |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | policy and to help develop and elect Texas leaders, and the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | organization energetically supports Republican candidates and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | fosters party unity; moreover, it encourages Republican women to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | run for office and trains them to become highly effective in civic |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | life; and |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Affiliated with the National Federation of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Republican Women, TFRW is one of the largest women's political |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | organizations in the nation; in accordance with the core values of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the Republican Party, it endorses a commitment to government by the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | people and to active participation by citizens in the political |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | process; the group strives to inform Texans about public policy and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | energize grassroots efforts for positive change; in recent election |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | cycles, members have logged nearly four million hours as campaign |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | volunteers, and they also accept special assignments on a |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | year-round basis; and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Citizen involvement is essential to the dynamism of |

| 35 | 35 | | our form of government, and through its 40 Under 40 Fellowship, the |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Texas Federation of Republican Women is motivating more women to |

| 37 | 37 | | take active roles in advancing the principles they hold dear; now, |

| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 40 | 40 | | Legislature hereby recognize the Texas Federation of Republican |
