| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Desi Day of Action at the State Capitol is taking |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The term "Desi" is commonly used among various |

| 13 | 14 | | groups of individuals of South Asian ancestry, in particular those |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | who live outside of that region; it stems from the Sanskrit word |

|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Encompassing numerous nations in the Indian |

| 17 | 18 | | subcontinent, South Asia is home to a diverse set of cultures; |

| 19 | 20 | | of the most popular are Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, and Punjabi; |

|---|

| 26 | 27 | | vibrant festivals as Diwali and Eid, and they are engaged in |
