| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Carla Campos of Haltom High School reached the |

| 9 | 9 | | pinnacle of success by winning a gold medal at the 2025 University |

| 10 | 10 | | Interscholastic League Wrestling State Tournament; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, On February 14 and 15, Ms. Campos joined the other |

| 12 | 12 | | top high school wrestlers in Texas at the Berry Center in Cypress; |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | she turned in a stellar performance in the 6A girls' 185-pound |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | weight division, defeating her Byron P. Steele II High School |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | opponent by fall in the semifinals to set up a title match showdown |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | against the two-time defending state champion Rylee Ferranti of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Klein Oak High School; with the state crown on the line, Ms. Campos |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | recorded a 6-2 decision for the victory; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Campos has achieved great success over the |

| 20 | 20 | | course of her high school wrestling career, collecting three |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | district championships, two regional crowns, and two state |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | tournament medals; in addition to receiving All-American honors, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | she has twice been named the Most Outstanding Wrestler for Region |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 1-6A and has been voted the District 4-6A Most Outstanding |

| 25 | 25 | | Wrestler; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, By claiming a gold medal in the state's premier |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | showcase for high school wrestlers, Carla Campos has ably |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | represented her school and community, and she may indeed take |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | justifiable pride in this exceptional accomplishment; now, |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
