 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston
 has been named a 2025 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care by
 U.S. News & World Report; and
 WHEREAS, Since 2021, U.S. News & World Report has published
 an annual ranking of hospitals that provide labor and delivery
 services; the ranking is designed to assist expectant parents in
 making informed decisions about where to receive maternity care in
 consultation with their prenatal care team; and
 WHEREAS, UTMB earned a High Performing designation by
 U.S. News based on its scores in several categories, including care
 provided in cases involving severe unexpected newborn
 complications, birthing-friendly practices, and transparency in
 reporting on racial and ethnic disparities in birth outcomes; it
 was among more than 800 hospitals from across the United States that
 were evaluated as part of this year's study; and
 WHEREAS, This prestigious national designation is a
 testament to The University of Texas Medical Branch's commitment to
 upholding the highest standards of practice for the women and
 infants entrusted to its care, and the Galveston community is
 indeed fortunate to be home to such a first-rate health care
 provider; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate The University of Texas Medical
 Branch in Galveston on its recognition as a 2025 High Performing
 Hospital for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report and extend
 to its administration and staff sincere best wishes for continued
 success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for UTMB as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
 of Representatives.
