67 R E S O L U T I O N
78 WHEREAS, Ellery A. Richard is being honored on June 8, 2025,
89 for his 21 years of dedicated service as the pastor of Second Shiloh
910 Missionary Baptist Church in Houston; and
1011 WHEREAS, A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ellery Richard
1112 attended Houston Baptist University, where he studied accounting
1213 and theology; he began his career as an associate minister at Live
1314 Oak Baptist Church; and
1415 WHEREAS, In 2004, he took the helm of Second Shiloh
1516 Missionary Baptist Church, and under his leadership, the church has
1617 established a variety of commendable programs that encourage
1718 fellowship and provide help to those in need; and
1819 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Richard enjoys the love
1920 and support of his wife, Sheila, and he takes great pride in his two
2021 sons, Tyrell and Evan, as well as in his three grandchildren, Evan,
2122 Madison, and Kason; and
2223 WHEREAS, This inspiring clergyman has led Second Shiloh
2324 Missionary Baptist Church with conviction and compassion, and he
2425 has earned the lasting respect and admiration of his congregants as
2526 well as members of the greater community; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Pastor Ellery A. Richard on the
2829 joyous occasion of his 21st anniversary with Second Shiloh
2930 Missionary Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best wishes for
3031 continued success with his important work; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for Pastor Richard as an expression of high regard by the
3334 Texas House of Representatives.
