| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ja'Miyah Gafford has been selected as the 2025 Youth |

| 8 | 9 | | of the Year for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County; |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1947, the Youth of the Year |

| 11 | 12 | | competition is the premier recognition program of the Boys & Girls |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Clubs of America; this comprehensive leadership development |

| 13 | 14 | | initiative helps club members to build their skills in such vital |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | areas as communication, goal-setting, and teamwork; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the Boys & Girls Clubs in 2023, |

| 16 | 17 | | Ms. Gafford has received valuable guidance that has helped her to |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | develop her confidence and abilities; she has served the club in a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | number of roles, including as the founder of the BGCGTC |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | cheerleading team, which she currently coaches, and she traveled to |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Washington, D.C., to meet with legislators and advocate for the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | needs of young Texans; in addition, she is working to establish a |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | nonprofit that offers peer-to-peer counseling for teens struggling |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | with mental health issues; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, A student at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, |

| 25 | 26 | | Ms. Gafford manages a challenging courseload that includes advanced |

| 26 | 27 | | placement courses, and she has further distinguished herself as a |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | member of the student council; following graduation, she plans to |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | pursue a degree in architecture at Prairie View A&M University; and |

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Ja'Miyah Gafford's selection as Youth of the Year is |

| 30 | 31 | | a fitting tribute to her leadership, service, and dedication to |

| 31 | 32 | | making a positive difference in the lives of others, and she may |

| 32 | 33 | | indeed reflect with pride on this prestigious honor; now, |
