| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Deena Ford has been honored with the EXCEL Award for |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Each year, KENS 5 partners with Credit Human to |

| 11 | 12 | | present the EXCEL Awards to outstanding educators from local school |

| 12 | 13 | | districts; and |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Ford realized a childhood dream later in life |

| 14 | 15 | | when she embarked on a career in education; she currently serves as |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | a math teacher at Legacy Middle School in San Antonio, where she has |

| 16 | 17 | | impressed her colleagues with her ability to connect with students |

| 17 | 18 | | and her willingness to go above and beyond to help them succeed; her |

| 18 | 19 | | efforts were previously recognized with her selection as East |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Central ISD's 2023-2024 District Teacher of the Year; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication, expertise, and innovative |

| 21 | 22 | | spirit, Deena Ford has made a positive difference in the lives of |

| 22 | 23 | | numerous young Texans, and she is indeed deserving of this notable |

| 23 | 24 | | honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
