 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of the Houston Minority Supplier
 Development Council are gathering in Austin on March 25, 2025, for
 HMSDC Day at the State Capitol; and
 WHEREAS, For more than half a century, the Houston Minority
 Supplier Development Council has provided business development
 programming and services to minority business enterprises across
 the Texas Gulf Coast region; serving as a vital link between major
 corporations and minority entrepreneurs, the council represents
 more than 70 corporations and over 1,000 certified small business
 owners; and
 WHEREAS, Dedicated to fostering collaboration in the Greater
 Houston business community, HMSDC involves its members in efforts
 designed to spark business growth, achieve economic
 self-sufficiency, increase purchasing power, and drive excellence
 in supplier diversity and development; according to a recent impact
 report, HMSDC-certified minority businesses annually generate more
 than $14 billion in economic activity in the Houston area while
 creating or preserving over 70,000 jobs; and
 WHEREAS, Minority-owned businesses contribute greatly to the
 economic vitality of the Lone Star State, and the Houston Minority
 Supplier Development Council is truly deserving of special
 recognition for its exceptional contributions in supporting these
 notable companies; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize March 25, 2025, as Houston Minority
 Supplier Development Council Day at the State Capitol and extend a
 warm welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for HMSDC as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
