66 R E S O L U T I O N
77 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Humane Legislation Network are
88 gathering at the State Capitol on March 25, 2025; and
99 WHEREAS, Founded by Texans for Texas Animals in 1975, the
1010 Texas Humane Legislation Network strives to protect animals through
1111 advocacy and education initiatives; the organization is composed of
1212 more than 27,000 members and donors, including animal shelter and
1313 rescue workers and law enforcement personnel, and is led by a board
1414 of directors encompassing a variety of animal law experts; and
1515 WHEREAS, A nonpartisan entity, THLN collaborates with
1616 elected officials in seeking enforceable anti-cruelty measures;
1717 its members also work closely with stakeholders such as
1818 veterinarians, shelter and sanctuary directors, animal control
1919 officers, and prosecutors and judges at the local, state, and
2020 federal levels; and
2121 WHEREAS, For half a century, THLN has worked tirelessly to
2222 improve the welfare of animals throughout the Lone Star State, and
2323 all those associated with the organization are indeed deserving of
2424 commendation for their myriad contributions; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby recognize March 25, 2025, as Texas Humane
2727 Legislation Network Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm
2828 welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for THLN as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
3131 of Representatives.
