7	7	WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Humane Legislation Network are
8	8	gathering at the State Capitol on March 25, 2025; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Founded by Texans for Texas Animals in 1975, the
10	10	Texas Humane Legislation Network strives to protect animals through
11	11	advocacy and education initiatives; the organization is composed of
12	12	more than 27,000 members and donors, including animal shelter and
13	13	rescue workers and law enforcement personnel, and is led by a board
14	14	of directors encompassing a variety of animal law experts; and
15	15	WHEREAS, A nonpartisan entity, THLN collaborates with
16	16	elected officials in seeking enforceable anti-cruelty measures;
17	17	its members also work closely with stakeholders such as
18	18	veterinarians, shelter and sanctuary directors, animal control
19	19	officers, and prosecutors and judges at the local, state, and
20	20	federal levels; and
21	21	WHEREAS, For half a century, THLN has worked tirelessly to
22	22	improve the welfare of animals throughout the Lone Star State, and
23	23	all those associated with the organization are indeed deserving of
24	24	commendation for their myriad contributions; now, therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
26	26	Legislature hereby recognize March 25, 2025, as Texas Humane
27	27	Legislation Network Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm
28	28	welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further
29	29	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
30	30	prepared for THLN as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
31	31	of Representatives.
