| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Lamar Oslin Lewis of |

| 8 | 9 | | Temple were deeply saddened by his death on March 9, 2025, at the |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The son of Benny Lee and Wilma Lewis, Lamar Lewis was |

| 11 | 12 | | born on January 17, 1954, and he grew up with the companionship of |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | three siblings, Benny, Russell, and Penelope; after graduating from |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Academy High School in 1972, he attended Temple Junior College, and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | he received a bachelor's degree in political science from Baylor |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | University in 1976; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lewis enjoyed a rewarding 33-year career as an |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | educator, coach, and athletic director at a number of Texas public |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | schools; following his retirement from Bandera High in 2013, he |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | served as district director in the office of State Representative |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Hugh Shine, and he ran for a seat in the Texas Senate in 2021; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Lewis benefited from the |

| 22 | 23 | | love and support of his wife, Colleen, with whom he shared a |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | fulfilling marriage that spanned five decades; he took great pride |

| 24 | 25 | | in his three children, Lindsay, Lauren, and Lamar, and over the |

| 25 | 26 | | years, he welcomed into his family seven grandchildren, Dobie, |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Hazel, Bonnie, Doris, Penelope, Brazos, and Birdy; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Lamar Lewis |

| 28 | 29 | | leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far |

| 29 | 30 | | richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured |
