H.R. No. 665 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ashlynn Famule of Shoemaker High School in Killeen closed out her senior year of competition in triumphant fashion by winning a repeat gold medal at the 2025 Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association 6A State Championship; and WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school lifters in Texas at the state meet in Edinburg on March 13, Ms. Famule delivered an exceptional performance in the unequipped portion of the 181-pound weight class; allowed to use only a weight belt, singlet, wrist wraps, and chalk in the unequipped category, she set state meet records by hoisting 380 pounds in the squat, 420 pounds in the dead lift, and 140 pounds in the bench press to rack up an impressive 940 total; she dominated the competition, defeating the second-place finisher by a margin of 105 pounds to clinch a second consecutive state crown; and WHEREAS, Ms. Famule plans to attend the University of Hawai'i at Manoa to continue her powerlifting career; and WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment to excellence, and Ashlynn Famule may indeed reflect with pride on this outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ashlynn Famule on winning the state title in the unequipped 181-pound weight class at the 2025 THSWPA 6A State Championship and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Famule as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
