 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Crosby High School Band performed in the rotunda
 of the State Capitol on December 5, 2024; and
 WHEREAS, Known as the Big Red Machine, the band has played at
 notable events across the country; in recent years, the group has
 performed during the games of the Houston Astros, Rockets, Dash,
 and Dynamo, in addition to traveling to California, Hawaii,
 Florida, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Washington, D.C., and
 throughout Texas; and
 WHEREAS, The Crosby band has consistently distinguished
 itself in competition, earning top ratings in University
 Interscholastic League events and advancing to the UIL State
 Marching Band Contest and the Texas Music Educators Association
 State Honor Band Contest; the ensemble has also received the Sudler
 Flag of Honor from the John Philip Sousa Foundation and the Program
 of Excellence Blue Ribbon Award from the National Band Association,
 and it has performed at the Midwest Clinic, a prestigious
 international conference for musicians; moreover, many of its
 students have qualified for TMEA All-Region and All-State Honor
 Bands, and select members have showcased their musicianship with
 the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band and in the Macy's
 Thanksgiving Day Parade; and
 WHEREAS, Through their hard work, dedication, and commitment
 to excellence, the talented young musicians of the Crosby High
 School Band have proudly represented their community, and they are
 indeed deserving of recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend the Crosby High School Band on its
 performance at the State Capitol and extend to all those associated
 with the group sincere best wishes for continued success.
