| 8 | 9 | | Program is honoring 12 distinguished Texans at its annual Hall of |

| 9 | 10 | | Fame Induction Ceremony/Luncheon in Dallas on April 12, 2025; and |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 2002, AAEAHP is a collaborative effort |

| 11 | 12 | | among local educators and the African American Museum; the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | organization works to raise awareness of the African American |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | educational experience in Dallas County, collect and preserve |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | archival material, support students and young educators, and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | recognize outstanding individuals; since its inception, the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | organization has been responsible for numerous initiatives, among |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | them the African American Education Hall of Fame, the Sankofa |

| 18 | 19 | | Children's Center at the African American Museum, oral history, |

| 19 | 20 | | historical archives, a scholarship program, and curriculum |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Educators include |

| 22 | 23 | | Dr. Helen Benjamin, Cassandra Black, Robert Edison, Dr. Levatta |

| 23 | 24 | | Levels, Dr. Larry Lewis, Bertric Manning, Dora Wesley Morris, |

| 24 | 25 | | Cheryl Smith, Norma Wright, and the late Dr. Charles Matthews; in |

| 25 | 26 | | addition, Senator Royce West and Curtis King are being recognized |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | with Presidential Awards; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through their exemplary contributions, these |
