| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Casas has been named the 2025 Teacher of the |

| 9 | 9 | | Year at St. Elmo Elementary School in the Austin Independent School |

| 10 | 10 | | District; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Campus Teacher of the Year award recognizes |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | full-time educators or interventionists who have taught in Austin |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | ISD for at least three years and have demonstrated an unwavering |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | commitment to inspiring a love of learning, building collaborative |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | relationships, and creating learning experiences that lead to high |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | expectations and positive outcomes; honorees are first nominated |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | for consideration by their fellow faculty members, and campus |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | winners become eligible for the district title; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Casas exemplifies the passion, determination, |

| 24 | 24 | | and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, |

| 25 | 25 | | and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her |

| 26 | 26 | | profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Nancy Casas on her selection as the |

| 29 | 29 | | 2025 Teacher of the Year at St. Elmo Elementary School and extend to |

| 30 | 30 | | her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important |
