77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Cherished memories remain to comfort the family and
99 friends of Janice S. Watson Cullum, who passed away on June 19,
1010 2024, at the age of 94; and
1111 WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on November 22, 1929, to Herbert
1212 Cornelius Watson and Birdie Beatrice Sachse, the former Janice
1313 Watson grew up with the companionship of three older sisters,
1414 Evelyn, Imogene, and Mae Ella; she went on to exchange wedding vows
1515 with George Cullum Jr. on February 7, 1950, and the couple shared in
1616 the joy of raising three children, George, Jean, and Troy; and
1717 WHEREAS, Mrs. Cullum and her family resided in various parts
1818 of North Texas and Missouri, and she always enjoyed being involved
1919 with her church and attending ladies' Bible studies; later in life,
2020 she found fulfillment in volunteering at Christian Care Communities &
2121 Services in Mesquite; and
2222 WHEREAS, Over the years, Mrs. Cullum's treasured family grew
2323 to include six grandchildren, Kristen, Craig, Julie, Clinton,
2424 T. J., and Morgan, as well as three great-grandchildren, Lucy,
2525 Owen, and Wyatt, and many nieces and nephews; she delighted in
2626 cheering on her grandchildren at their extracurricular activities
2727 and taking them on outings to church, museums, zoos, and amusement
2828 parks; she was known for her fashion sense and her love of
2929 accessorizing, and her favorite activities included reading the
3030 newspaper and solving word puzzles; and
3131 WHEREAS, With her kind and caring ways, Janice Cullum
3232 brightened the world for all who knew her, and they will forever
3333 hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3535 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Janice S. Watson
3636 Cullum and extend deepest sympathy to her family and friends; and,
3737 be it further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3939 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4040 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Janice
4141 Cullum.
