| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Reman Day is taking place on April 24, 2025; and |

| 10 | 11 | | benefits of remanufacturing; a comprehensive and rigorous |

| 11 | 12 | | industrial process, remanufacturing transforms used, worn, or |

| 12 | 13 | | nonfunctional products and components to "like new" or "better than |

|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Through remanufacturing, end-of-life goods, or |

| 15 | 16 | | items that are no longer considered useful, are diverted from |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | landfills; the process has been recognized by numerous |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | universities, research institutions, and manufacturers for its |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | positive impact on the environment; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A 2012 U.S. International Trade Commission report |

| 20 | 21 | | indicated that remanufacturing activities supported at least |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | 180,000 full-time jobs in the United States in 2011; it |

| 22 | 23 | | additionally stated that production of remanufactured goods in the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | U.S. increased by approximately 15 percent from 2009 to 2011 and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | that export of those goods totaled $11.7 billion in 2011; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Remanufacturing has long played a vital role in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | furthering the economic prosperity of the Lone Star State, and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Reman Day is helping to ensure that future generations of Texans are |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | equipped to carry on that strong tradition of innovation and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | industry; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby recognize April 24, 2025, as Reman Day and |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | encourage all citizens to learn more about the benefits of |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | remanufacturing. |
