67 R E S O L U T I O N
78 WHEREAS, Reman Day is taking place on April 24, 2025; and
89 WHEREAS, An initiative of the Remanufacturing Industries
910 Council, Reman Day highlights the environmental and economic
1011 benefits of remanufacturing; a comprehensive and rigorous
1112 industrial process, remanufacturing transforms used, worn, or
1213 nonfunctional products and components to "like new" or "better than
1314 new" condition; and
1415 WHEREAS, Through remanufacturing, end-of-life goods, or
1516 items that are no longer considered useful, are diverted from
1617 landfills; the process has been recognized by numerous
1718 universities, research institutions, and manufacturers for its
1819 positive impact on the environment; and
1920 WHEREAS, A 2012 U.S. International Trade Commission report
2021 indicated that remanufacturing activities supported at least
2122 180,000 full-time jobs in the United States in 2011; it
2223 additionally stated that production of remanufactured goods in the
2324 U.S. increased by approximately 15 percent from 2009 to 2011 and
2425 that export of those goods totaled $11.7 billion in 2011; and
2526 WHEREAS, Remanufacturing has long played a vital role in
2627 furthering the economic prosperity of the Lone Star State, and
2728 Reman Day is helping to ensure that future generations of Texans are
2829 equipped to carry on that strong tradition of innovation and
2930 industry; now, therefore, be it
3031 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3132 Legislature hereby recognize April 24, 2025, as Reman Day and
3233 encourage all citizens to learn more about the benefits of
3334 remanufacturing.
