| 9 | 9 | | Yates" Holstead is being inducted into the Country Radio Hall of |

| 10 | 10 | | Fame in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 21, 2025; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Born in Fort Worth, Josh Holstead is the son of famed |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | radio news journalist Joe Holstead, and he dreamed of following in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his father's footsteps; as a boy, he practiced spinning records |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | while using a hairbrush as an imaginary microphone, and he spent |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | hours working on diction and enunciation; he got his first job at |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the age of 15, when Denton radio station KDNT hired him to run the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | church tapes on Sunday mornings; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Holstead began his career at a station in |

| 19 | 19 | | Bridgeport; after working in a number of markets, including New |

| 20 | 20 | | Orleans and Oklahoma City, he became a highly rated radio |

| 21 | 21 | | personality in College Station; he got his major-market break at |

| 22 | 22 | | Houston station KIKK in the mid-1990s, and at their request, he |

| 23 | 23 | | chose Rowdy Yates as his on-air nickname; he went on to a noteworthy |

| 25 | 25 | | nationally syndicated weekend show, Country Gold; and |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, In 2011, Mr. Holstead's wife accepted a position in |

| 27 | 27 | | Oklahoma, and he spent six years as a morning personality with KVOO |

| 28 | 28 | | in Tulsa; he now lives in Richmond and airs on more than 200 |

| 29 | 29 | | stations, hosting two syndicated shows, Rowdy Ride Home and the |

| 43 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 44 | 44 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Josh "Rowdy Yates" Holstead on his |
