8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Rob Kepple has earned great distinction through his |

9 | 9 | | outstanding career with the Texas District and County Attorneys |

10 | 10 | | Association, including his 22 years of exemplary leadership as the |
---|
11 | 11 | | organization's executive director; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of The George Washington University Law |
---|
13 | 13 | | School, Rob Kepple began his career by serving as an associate at |
---|
14 | 14 | | the Fulbright and Jaworski law firm in Houston; he went on to |
---|
15 | 15 | | distinguish himself as a prosecutor in Harris County, working under |
---|
16 | 16 | | the legendary district attorney John Holmes, and he rose to become a |
---|
17 | 17 | | chief felony prosecutor; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Kepple joined the Texas District and County |
---|
19 | 19 | | Attorneys Association in 1990, overseeing the legal training of |
---|
20 | 20 | | prosecutors throughout the state and representing them at the State |
---|
21 | 21 | | Capitol; he assisted in drafting and implementing the 1993 Texas |
---|
22 | 22 | | Penal Code, and in 2002, he accepted the position of executive |
---|
23 | 23 | | director of the association; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Under Mr. Kepple's skilled leadership, the Texas |
---|
25 | 25 | | District and County Attorneys Association has become recognized as |
---|
26 | 26 | | the largest statewide association of prosecutors in the nation; his |
---|
27 | 27 | | impressive tenure is marked by such notable accomplishments as the |
---|
28 | 28 | | formation of the Texas District and County Attorneys Foundation and |
---|
29 | 29 | | the Prosecutor Management Institute, and he has been an |
---|
30 | 30 | | indispensable asset to numerous legislators as well as aspiring |
---|
31 | 31 | | prosecutors at The University of Texas School of Law; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Rob Kepple is an esteemed legal expert who has left |
---|
33 | 33 | | an indelible mark on the practice and application of law in Texas, |
---|
34 | 34 | | and his leadership as executive director of the Texas District and |
---|
35 | 35 | | County Attorneys Association will be greatly missed by all; now, |
---|
36 | 36 | | therefore, be it |

37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
---|
38 | 38 | | Legislature hereby commend Rob Kepple for his exceptional career |
---|
39 | 39 | | and his many contributions to the Lone Star State and extend to him |

40 | 40 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
