77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Charles Alfred
99 Williamson of Tyler were deeply saddened by his death on
1010 December 20, 2024, at the age of 55; and
1111 WHEREAS, Born on July 6, 1969, to J. C. and Shirley Quick
1212 Williamson, Charlie Williamson graduated from Palestine High
1313 School; he went on to attend The University of Texas at Tyler, where
1414 he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; he worked at the
1515 Texas Department of Criminal Justice, rising to the rank of warden,
1616 and he retired after nearly 20 years of dedicated service; he later
1717 was employed by Recana Recruiting and Staffing Solutions; and
1818 WHEREAS, Public service was of great importance to
1919 Mr. Williamson, and he served as the Rusk County Republican Party
2020 Chair from 2012 to 2024; he was also an avid Longhorns fan, and he
2121 enjoyed watching college football with his loved ones; a lifelong
2222 Methodist, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Allison
2323 Plunkett Williamson; and
2424 WHEREAS, Although Charlie Williamson will be deeply missed,
2525 he has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories that
2626 they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
2727 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
2828 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Charles Alfred
2929 Williamson and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
3030 family: to his children, James "Jay" Williamson and Jenna Kathryn
3131 Williamson; to his parents, J. C. and Shirley Williamson; to his
3232 father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Sarah Plunkett; to his stepson,
3333 William Plunkett, and stepdaughter, Evie Plunkett; to his
3434 brother-in-law, Logan Plunkett; and to his many other relatives and
3535 friends; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3737 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3838 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charlie
3939 Williamson.
