 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Stephen F. Austin State University Sylvans
 timbersports team furthered its legacy of excellence by winning the
 2025 Southern Forestry Conclave, which took place from March 20 to
 22 in Huntsville, Alabama; and
 WHEREAS, Featuring students from Association of Southern
 Forestry Clubs, the Southern Forestry Conclave brought together 13
 universities to compete in a series of technical and physical
 forestry-related events; delivering an exceptional performance,
 Stephen F. Austin achieved a first-place finish in physical events
 and was fourth in the technical category, earning a total of 263.5
 points to outpace the runner-up team by 18 points; with the victory,
 the Sylvans collected the 19th conclave championship in program
 history and extended their meet win streak to seven, tying the
 all-time record for consecutive titles won; and
 WHEREAS, SFA was sparked by the duo of Holly Parkin and Maddie
 Sweeten, whose record-setting time of 4.69 seconds in women's
 crosscut was the fastest since the event began in 1979; in addition
 to women's crosscut, the Sylvans' dominant showing featured seven
 other first-place finishes; Jacob Barrett topped the knife throw
 and archery fields, and his win in the latter event included a
 perfect score from 20 yards; Trent Kline also won two events,
 clinching the men's log chop and bowsaw titles in the respective
 times of 49.8 and 15.645 seconds, and Paige Sumner and Katie Grenier
 placed first in the chain throw in 76.86 seconds; moreover, Weston
 Williams was victorious in the pole climb, clocking in at 6.81
 seconds, and Ms. Parkin and Mr. Kline paired to triumph in the Jack &
 Jill crosscut event in 7.08 seconds; the team was ably guided by
 coach Dr. Jeremy Stovall, a professor of forestry at SFA; and
 WHEREAS, By accomplishing the rare feat of winning 19
 Southern Forestry Conclave championships, the Stephen F. Austin
 Sylvans have distinguished themselves as a powerhouse in
 timbersports, and all those associated with the squad may reflect
 with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Stephen F. Austin State
 University Sylvans timbersports team on winning the 2025 Southern
 Forestry Conclave and extend to the members and coaching staff
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
