| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | with the tragic passing of Erma Adeyemo of Arlington on March 31, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 2025, at the age of 63; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Mama Erma" to her loved |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | ones and community, Ms. Adeyemo served as a special education |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | teacher in the Arlington Independent School District for more than |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | two decades, and during the summers, she helped with the district's |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | food program; following her retirement, she worked with cancer |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | patients undergoing therapy at Texas Oncology; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep faith, Ms. Adeyemo was an active |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | member of Word of Peace International Ministry Church in Grand |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Prairie, where she sang in the choir and participated in the altar |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | ministry and other groups; she also led the church's hospitality |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | team and food pantry; in addition, she volunteered with Special |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Olympics; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Adeyemo was the proud mother of three daughters, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and she had the pleasure of seeing her treasured family grow to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | include nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm and generous nature and a joyous |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | zest for life, Erma Adeyemo brightened the world for all who knew |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Erma Adeyemo and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | extend sincere condolences to her relatives and many friends; and, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Erma |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Adeyemo. |
