77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, The girls' basketball team from Boswell High School
99 in Fort Worth closed out an unforgettable season by winning the 2025
1010 University Interscholastic League 6A Division 2 state
1111 championship; and
1212 WHEREAS, The Pioneers began their journey to the title by
1313 going undefeated in district play; continuing to excel in the
1414 postseason, Boswell bested Southlake Carroll, El Paso Eastwood,
1515 Little Elm Braswell, and Wolfforth Frenship High Schools to advance
1616 to the state semifinals against Lancaster High School; delivering a
1717 48-32 victory, Boswell secured the inaugural state final appearance
1818 in program history; and
1919 WHEREAS, On March 1, the Pioneers battled Hightower High
2020 School for the state crown at the Alamodome in San Antonio;
2121 following a scoreless opening three and a half minutes, Boswell got
2222 on the board first and then ignited a 6-0 run at the end of the
2323 second quarter to take a 25-18 advantage at the half; combining a
2424 stout defense with sharp shooting from three-point range, the
2525 Pioneers built a 13-point lead entering the final frame; emerging
2626 triumphant by the final score of 51-42, Boswell became the first
2727 girls' basketball team from the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent
2828 School District to claim a state championship, and it capped the
2929 year with an impressive 39-2 record; and
3030 WHEREAS, Boswell was led by Seleste Massey, the championship
3131 game Most Valuable Player who was joined by Camille Williams on the
3232 All-Tournament Team; excelling through teamwork, the Pioneers also
3333 received valuable contributions throughout the year from the other
3434 members of the roster: Kaliyah Hyman, Kaydence Daniels, Aniya
3535 Jones, Sydney Durrah, Haleigh Jackson, Simaii Andrews, Salena
3636 Carrasco, and Destiny O'connor; these determined student-athletes
3737 were ably guided by head coach John Reese and assistant coaches
3838 Ginger Williams, Brad Ingram, and Jason Hensley, and they received
3939 additional support from principal Vaughn Flagler; and
4040 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
4141 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
4242 commitment to excellence, and the Boswell Pioneers will treasure
4343 the memory of this accomplishment for the rest of their lives; now,
4444 therefore, be it
4545 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
4646 Legislature hereby congratulate the Boswell High School girls'
4747 basketball team on winning the 2025 UIL 6A Division 2 state
4848 championship and extend to the players, coaches, and staff sincere
4949 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
5050 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5151 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
5252 House of Representatives.
