| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Erica LaHood is serving as La Reina Linda XI for the |

| 9 | 9 | | 2025 Fiesta San Antonio season; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In 2013, La Reina Linda was created as the female |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | counterpart to El Rey Feo, one of Fiesta's royalty; the title was |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | established to enhance the efforts of the Rey Feo Scholarship |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Foundation, which over the years has awarded more than $10 million |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in scholarships to local graduating seniors planning to attend |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | college or trade school; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A native of Corpus Christi, Mrs. LaHood pursued |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | studies at St. Mary's University before earning her degree in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | business from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi; she went on to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | cofound an oil-field chemical solutions company with her brother in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 2012 and currently serves as its CEO; passionate about community |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | service, she was recently elected vice chair of the San Antonio |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Transportation Advisory Board, and in her role as La Reina, her goal |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | is to raise $500,000; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. LaHood enjoys the love |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and support of her husband, Marc, and she takes great pride in their |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | four children, Emily, Zeke, Adara, and Myla; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A dedicated community leader and entrepreneur, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Erica LaHood has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to helping |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | area youth achieve their dreams of higher education, and it is |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | indeed a pleasure to join in honoring her; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby recognize Erica LaHood for her role as La Reina |
