77 R E S O L U T I O N
88 WHEREAS, Erica LaHood is serving as La Reina Linda XI for the
99 2025 Fiesta San Antonio season; and
1010 WHEREAS, In 2013, La Reina Linda was created as the female
1111 counterpart to El Rey Feo, one of Fiesta's royalty; the title was
1212 established to enhance the efforts of the Rey Feo Scholarship
1313 Foundation, which over the years has awarded more than $10 million
1414 in scholarships to local graduating seniors planning to attend
1515 college or trade school; and
1616 WHEREAS, A native of Corpus Christi, Mrs. LaHood pursued
1717 studies at St. Mary's University before earning her degree in
1818 business from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi; she went on to
1919 cofound an oil-field chemical solutions company with her brother in
2020 2012 and currently serves as its CEO; passionate about community
2121 service, she was recently elected vice chair of the San Antonio
2222 Transportation Advisory Board, and in her role as La Reina, her goal
2323 is to raise $500,000; and
2424 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. LaHood enjoys the love
2525 and support of her husband, Marc, and she takes great pride in their
2626 four children, Emily, Zeke, Adara, and Myla; and
2727 WHEREAS, A dedicated community leader and entrepreneur,
2828 Erica LaHood has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to helping
2929 area youth achieve their dreams of higher education, and it is
3030 indeed a pleasure to join in honoring her; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
3232 Legislature hereby recognize Erica LaHood for her role as La Reina
3333 Linda XI and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
3434 success; and, be it further
3535 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3636 prepared for Mrs. LaHood as an expression of high regard by the
3737 Texas House of Representatives.
